Cyclical, Y U NO STOP?!

In the book the Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan shows a pattern of a mother and daughter relationship it is like a cyclical because in the beginning of the story with Waverly and her mom share a very close connection. Lindo Jong, who is the mother wanted her daughter to come here and try to make her strong also to want her to become Americanize. Lindo came her to get her daughter to have the American life and she is able to get everything in life and hopefully take over her place in time.
In addition, in the beginning of the story shows how Waverly is able to take the role of her mother and becomes the care taker of her sister when her mom past away. Waverly is taking over the place but also given the power like her mom had to tell the truth to her sister. Also, the story shows how even though Lindo Jong wanted to Americanize her daughter but she ends up making her closer to her culture because she returns back to China in the end. Showing the pattern that when a mother raised her daughter so much and want them to end up with a life the mom always wanted that the daughter would end up like the mom. There is a mom and daughter bond, and the cultural cycle that is shown.
The point of the cyclical element of the book is to show the audience the pattern that goes in the book and the background behind. Also that everything the mothers do will have an effect in the daughters like but they will turn into them at some point. In addition, the beginning and ending shows how the effects of everything that has happen.  Also how the mothers has raised their daughters to live outside their culture but they end up running back to where they have came from. Furthermore the daughters act like their mothers because they want to put their family first and hold onto the tradition. This is the reason in my opinion for the cyclical that is shown by Amy Tan in the novel.
